Chairman, Andy Chung said:

“As well as promoting Chinese culture in Scotland, charity is at the heart of our organisation. It’s important that we give back to the community and teaming up with The Lodging House Mission to provide a meal to those in need has proven to be a huge success.”

Fully supported by Amber Regret Restaurant, Chinese catering was distributed to over 100 homeless and disadvantaged people in the hope of bringing them a little warmth and a positive start to the new year.

Manageress of Amber Regent, Christina Chung, was on hand to help serve the meal. She added:

“It was a fabulous day and we had the pleasure of serving and meeting some wonderfully inspiring individuals and great characters. We’re already looking forward to planning the next event.”

A spokesperson for the Lodging House Mission said:

“What a fabulous meal our service users had today! The meal proved so popular that everything was eaten in record time. Many service users came back to compliment us on what proved to be a very special day.”

The Lodging House Mission has over 100 years experience in helping disadvantaged people get their lives back on the right track. Care and support is provided to those in need regardless of religion, race, ethnicity or gender. With more and more men and women becoming homeless due to the current economic downturn, they have a dedicated team of Support Workers and Volunteers who work together towards one common goal – making a positive difference in people’s lives.
