Glasgow’s Best Burger

Glasgow’s Best Burger – As voted for by you!

Once upon a time in Glasgow, a decent burger came with a cardboard crown or a side of collectable choking hazard. But the days of folk thinking old Ronald dished up the best burgers in town are well behind us.

For a while, the city went burger daft as countless eateries fought it out to create the best burger in Glasgow. We’ve seen everything from avocado buns, to monstrous eating challenges, quadruple stacks, sushi burgers, candied bacon, deep-fried pickles, foie gras toppers, glazed doughnut buns and even the humble Scotch pie has made an appearance atop a juicy ground beef patty! If nothing else, the burger boom has shown we’re a creative bunch when it comes to our scran.

We decided to put our Top 10 section into the hands of our Instagram followers. We asked and you voted in your thousands!

Here are the results of our Instagram vote to find Glasgow’s Best Burger:

Tiny Dancer’s Slider Pantry

Tiny Dancer’s

Small in stature, HUGE in flavour! One bite of one of their pillowy, locally produced, brioche sliders and you’ll be sold. Super tasty fillings and top-quality ingredients make for some knock your socks off bites of mini-burger heaven. You’ll find them plying their trade in the old Argyle Street Arches at Platform.

Brewdog DogHouse

If you want your burger to come with a side of beer, then this is the place for you. Loosen your belt buckle a notch and get ready to devour stacks of old-time barbecue scran, smoked meats and some of the freshest craft brews in the city. Top-quality burgers plus enough craft beer to drown a hippo. That’s double trouble right there!

Meat Bar

If you’re feeling a little wild, then go for The Double Dip.  A gravy lover’s wet-dream, it comes with a whole lotta dirty fixings – beef patty, thinly sliced beef brisket in gravy, smoked cheddar, caramelised onion, pickle, French’s mustard PLUS an extra boat of pouring gravy! All on the one burger… Hell.Yes!

BRGR

With burgers, sorry… BRGRS from only 4 quid and three locations around the city, it’s easy to see why so many of you voted BRGR into the top ten. They’re also on Deliveroo so if you’re feeling a bit hangry and need a quick fix then a quality BRGR is never too far away. Expect easy American style burgers with a side of Glasgow patter.

Buck’s Bar

These guys don’t do the best fried chicken in town… they do the most finger-lickin’, super crispy, deep-fried-to-mother-bucking-perfection chicken in town. Their ‘Kim Jong Bun’ buttermilk fried chicken burger really is something glorious to behold. Oh, and always order a side of their Chinese style salt and chilli chips. Carb lovers rejoice!

Bloc+

Bloc - Glasgow's Best Burger
Bloc+

The menu at Bloc+ is bursting with comfort food favourites like bacon-wrapped hot dogs, chilli loaded poutine, fiery tacos and cheesy nachos but it’s the burgers that really steal the show. The now legendary Mad Mac (which made it onto the Glasgow Foodie Bucket List) is quite simply the best version of a Big Mac that you’ll ever taste. As you stuff it into your face, it’s hard not to pity those around you who aren’t sharing your ethereal moment of burger lust.

Lebowskis

Leave your health-conscious negativity at the door and prepare for one hell of a cheat meal. There are some pretty wild burgers flying out of this kitchen – recent specials include a chips, cheese & curry burger, the piece ‘n’ crisps burger and a hangover destroying fry up burger. Beach bod? Who cares.

El Perro Negro

El Perro Negro

There’s artistry in making a simple burger truly stunning and El Perro Negro are the masters of this craft. Once the hottest pop-up ticket in town, this cult burger joint now has a permanent home in Finnieston, and boy oh boy are they good! Get your gums around their insanely decadent Top Dog – we’re talking bone marrow and Roquefort butter, double bacon, caramelised onions and black truffle mayo. ‘Nuff said.

Dennistoun Bar-B-Que

Dennistoun BBQ - Glasgow's Best Burger

Burgers that require both hands to pick up are always the best kinds of burgers. The Columbia is fast becoming something of an east end legend and to many, it’s the godfather of all of Glasgow’s most badass burgers. Notoriously sloppy with the perfect ratio of juicy meat, cheese, slaw and sauce – this is a burger made in fat boy heaven!

Bread Meats Bread

Well, the winners of our vote to find Glasgow’s Best Burger will come as a surprise to absolutely no-one. Yes, the burgers at Bread Meats Bread are well worth the hype, with that signature cheese-melt making every burger instagrammable as hell. Don’t even bother with a single, you’ve gotta go for the classic Cali and double, triple or even quadruple that baby! Order a side of bacon chips and thank us later.
