Five Must-Try Sweet Treats

I LOVE GLASGOW APPROVED

Just don’t forget to take a photo before you dig in because these works of art are all worthy of spamming your mates with on social media.

Here are five must-try sweet treats to be found in Glasgow:

Loop & Scoop

Loop & Scoop’s signature glazed churro loop and handmade gelato is serious Instabait. Has anyone ever eaten this without taking a photo first?

There are so many amazing options to choose from but their churro oyster – an ode to an old Glasgow favourite – has our heart. Your choice of silky gelato, sandwiched between two churro swirls; elevating our much-loved ice cream van treat with a touch of continental class.

Also, make sure you leave room for ummm…dessert? Because you can’t leave without an order of freshly made filled churros stuffed with Bueno, or Nutella, or salted caramel, or peanut butter…

Okay, I’ll stop now but just get your ass to Loop & Scoop. You deserve it!

Fusing high-end ingredients, the latest technology, and some crazy ideas to create mouthwatering works of art in their compact west end cafe.

You will find up to 15 different cakes to choose from over the weekend with everything from choux pastry, to Japanese sponge, and pistachio praline – all accompanied with freshly roasted coffee or loose-leaf teas.

Peruse the colourful display of sweet treats and prepare yourself for something quite magical.

Tantrum Doughnuts

Since 2015, the team at Tantrum has been proudly producing creative and quality doughnuts – all made from scratch, each and every day!

They focus on using fresh, high-end, and seasonal ingredients. As well as working with local producers, they work hard to keep their doughnuts fun, playful, and super affordable.

Their famous creme brûlée doughnut is a must-try! Rich Madagascan vanilla bean custard-filled brioche doughnut with a crunchy torched sugar top.

The pistachio and hibiscus ring is another I Love Glasgow favourite. A nutty layer of Iranian Pistachio glaze, with a pink hibiscus flower reduction swirl, and candied pistachios on top of a brioche ring.
