Local foodies are celebrating another Michelin Star restaurant in Glasgow!
Unalome by Graeme Cheevers has been awarded one Michelin Star – a mere 8 months after opening their doors in Glasgow’s West End.
Speaking ahead of opening Unalome, Chef Patron Graeme Cheevers made clear his ambition to bring a Michelin star to Glasgow, saying at the time:
“There is nowhere else I would rather launch my own restaurant than in my home city of Glasgow. We’re hitting the ground running and have high hopes to achieve a Michelin star within our first year.”
A bold ambition but one that has proven to be within the grasp of such a talented, creative, and dedicated team.

Reacting to the news of their award, Graeme Cheevers said:
“Having just opened eight months ago, this immense honour means so much to us, let alone the fact Unalome by Graeme Cheevers is my first solo venture. To receive this kind of recognition in a short space of time and from such a respected and admired body, is the most incredible achievement for both myself and our team. I couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you to everyone involved.”
Michelin described a “boldness and a sophistication to the cooking” remarking that “it’s well worth going for the full tasting menu and the thoughtfully considered wine pairings.”
In Buddhism, the Unalome represents the path we take in life and it certainly looks like Graeme is leading his team in the right direction.

Unalome joins Cail Bruich, who retained the star they were awarded in 2021 – when they earned Glasgow’s first Michelin star in 18 years.
Headed up by Lorna McNee – protégé of the late Andrew Fairlie – who became the first-ever female chef to be awarded a Michelin Star in Glasgow.
Welcoming the news that they had once again been recognised by such a prestigious title as the Micheline Guide, Cail Bruich posted online stating:
We are humbled and delighted to receive the fantastic news today that we have retained our Michelin Guide Michelin star for 2022.
This achievement wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of our wonderful team and the support of our incredible suppliers and guests.

As long-time champions of the city’s culinary scene, we couldn’t be happier to see two local restaurants recognised for the incredible work they’re doing to promote Glasgow as a must-visit dining destination.
The foodie world finally is starting to take notice of Glasgow’s thriving, creative, and dynamic hospitality sector.
